Balquhidder Churchyard - 2003
The MacLarens were the hereditary clan at Balquhidder. The ancestor is believed to have been Laurence, Abbot of Achtow in Balquhidder, who lived in the thirteenth century. Balquhidder passed into the hands of the Crown, and in 1490, a Stewart was appointed the royal baillie. The MacGregors arrived in Balquhidder Glen later after losing their ancestral lands in GlenStrae to the Campbells. This story becomes very complicated.

, and information that the grave is also that of Helen Mary (his wife), and sons Coll and Robert. A biographical sketch of Rob Roy may be found at Heart o' Scotland, and there is a FAQ.
