The Town House - May 2006

Facing Southward in the market square we see this old gaol which is now a museum.  The museum's exhibits (2006) emphasize the railroad industry.  Left of the museum is the Kirk Wynd which passes the entry to the Old Parish Church (Church of Scotland).  To the right of the museum heading South is Bellie's Brae.  On the right just before Bellie's Brae is Croft Terrace that goes toward the Tannage Brae.

[The Ironmonger Shop]
The Ironmonger Shop - May 2006

Facing Eastward across the town square at the corner of Bank Street and (the start of) High Street, we see the large ironmonger's shop.  See the steeple of the Old Parish Church in the background.  Note the tour bus on the left.  These tours had different destinations each day and could be booked at the Information Center off Croft Terrace.

Facing across the town square toward the large ironmonger's shop we see the intersection of Bank Street (left from the ironmonger's), High Street (from the ironmonger's toward the foreground left and right).  The old gaol (museum) is in the background of this picture on the right and the steeple of the Old Parish Church in the background on the left.

[Visocchi's Ice Cream Parlor]
Visocchi's Ice Cream Parlor - May 2006

Across the town square to the West is Visocchi's Ice Cream Parlor which opened in 1930. to the left of Visocchi's heading southward is Bellie's Brae and to the left alongside Visocchi's is Croft Terrace.
